Welcome to Floyd County, Kentucky. Floyd County has abounding opportunities for business, recreation, education, entertainment and much more. The generous spirit and close-knit ties that our citizens share with each other is visibly illustrated throughout our
ever-changing county. Our people are proud of their rich heritage, traditions, and values that dictate the way of life for many Floyd Countians. Opportunities in Floyd County are limitless as new advancements are continuously uprising. Education in Floyd County is improving daily as we strive for excellence in meeting and exceeding the high expectations that we have for our future generation. Many diverse educational opportunities are available with colleges such as Big Sandy Community & Technical College, Morehead State University and Sullivan University. Entertainment is constantly changing as Floyd County is proud of its many talented musicians and artists that we are very thrilled to showcase and call our own. If you enjoy live entertainment you have to see a show at the Mountain Arts Center or Jenny Wiley Amphitheatre. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy Jenny Wiley State Resort Park as well as many other recreational opportunities that other local parks offer. Fore! If you like golf you spend time on the greens at Stumbo Golf Course or take your golf swing to the professional level by visiting StoneCrest Golf Course. Go and be above the stars at the East Kentucky Science Center or catch a race at Thunder Ridge Raceway. We have ways to entertain both the young and old. Floyd County is open to any window providing economic development. Our infrastructure is always changing and expanding to generate new possibilities and opportunities for our people. One of our main goals is to promote and enhance the area business climate with the up most concern for the quality of life for our residents. The Floyd County Chamber of Commerce and its board of directors represent a very diverse group of individuals that are responsible for the growth and expansion of Floyd County. This group of people is the extraordinarnary group that is leading Floyd County toward a bright future, both economically and socially. Our Leadership Floyd County Program and Youth Leadership Floyd County Program are two great programs that are preparing the citizens of Floyd County to become the future leaders of the Big Sandy Region. Floyd County has many leisure activities available, opportunities that are limitless, business growth, entertainment that is unbeatable, and mountain heritage that define who we are.
